For us gun owners, most of us are well aware of this world wide agreement that’s set to go effect on Christmas Eve this year. For those non gun owners, (if you’re not, I encourage you to get yours now) let me briefly recap what the agreement says and how it may effect us here in the US.

First of all, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed on behalf of the US, however, it was never ratified by our congress, so it essentially has no legal stance here…but it does start the process to roll it out here, so be aware. It essentially would take away our 2nd amendment, so unless they finally throw that out, we should be ok….but I don’t doubt they will try and try to get this through. Remember back to Lexington and Concord…first shots of our Revolutionary War….was because King George wanted to take the guns away from the colonists….and it will happen again if they try and take out guns.

Anyways..back to the report…
As of today, 125 countries have signed the treaty, and 55 have ratified it.

• Article 2 of the treaty defines the scope of the treaty’s prohibitions. The right to own, buy, sell, trade, or transfer all means of armed resistance, including handguns, is denied to civilians by this section of the Arms Trade Treaty.

• Article 3 places the “ammunition/munitions fired, launched or delivered by the conventional arms covered under Article 2” within the scope of the treaty’s prohibitions, as well. (A gun ain’t worth much without bullets)

• Article 4 rounds out the regulations, also placing all “parts and components” of weapons within the scheme. (If they can’t ban the guns, the could just try to ban spare parts, or the ability to build your own weapon from parts which is done quite often and is a huge market in AR-15 market)

• Perhaps the most immediate threat to the rights of gun owners in the Arms Trade Treaty is found in Article 5. Under the title of “General Implementation,” Article 5 mandates that all countries participating in the treaty “shall establish and maintain a national control system, including a national control list.” This list should “apply the provisions of this Treaty to the broadest range of conventional arms.” (A list of all gun owners, so they know which house to come to first to take em. Or which ones to stay away from).

These are the exact things the Obama administration has been trying to accomplish every since, and even before Sandy Hook. Eric Holder has been quoted from 1995 saying, “really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.” He continues, “What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that’s not cool, that it’s not acceptable, it’s not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes.”

If you’re not aware, in every country where the government took away the guns, the people were over run by the government. It’s not that hard to figure out why they want to take our guns. Look at Hilter…remember him? Look at Stalin. Look at China. It never ends well for the people.

Other things that are happening in our country in regards to guns:

Last year, the last lead smelter was closed down in the US. What does that mean? Well…what are bullets made out of? Lead. So basically, no more bullets are going to be made in the US, so more of our lead will come from overseas, which comes at a higher cost. Their plan….if we can ban guns, let’s make the ammunition so expensive, their guns becomes worthless with out bullets. They EPA claims to shut down smelting due to the high amount of pollution…uh huh. Now, the ammunition manufacturers will still be able to smelt recycled lead, but it still puts a crimp on production.

Along these sales lines, is the spent brass (used shells from bullets) from the US Army. They used to sell this used brass here in the Homeland, but there are several reports of them selling it to no other than China! Or even destroying it. Again causes higher prices for the ammunition manufacturers and to the consumer.
